BOM Component qty requirement

Dear All,

My requrement is as follows.

Material Code ABC - Stapler Pins (5000)

Current base unit is EA – each

Alt. u/m is PC – Pieces

Conversion is 5000 PC = 1 EA

This material assign to material BOM and 50 base unit 20 component qty.

If we issue production qty 225, Component qty 90 calculated based on the conversion.

But we need it calculate as qty 100. Because of 20 pieces use for every 50 base qty.

Since production Qnty is 225, system proposing the right amount of component (90) .

I just have one qns - If you receive 100 qnty as per your requirement, what you will do rest of 10 qnty since requirement for production only 90 Qnty.??

Actually, requirement qty calculated to 90 qty. Need to calculate as 100 qty.

90pcs calculated is correct quantity. Maybe your figure 100 pcs contains component scrap you need to set up in BOM.

Otherwise as Amit and Kumar pointed out you could set it up as production version with lot size configured to your needs.

1. Enter the correct conversion in material master.

2. System is behaving as per design of calculating the component quantity i.e Req qty/ Base qty * Saved component qty.

3. If it is process industry , you can use functionality of MQC and create a formula to calculate the component quantity against product quantity

4. Change the quantity in production order

You can also create alternative BOM and create production version according to lot sizes.
