Filter doesn't work correctly in Webi when using merged objects from SAP Bex queries

Hi,

This is in context to this question.

We have two bex queries which are merged on nav attribute.

https://archive.sap.com/discussions/message/11145475#11145475

But filtering on it gives incorrect value.

We are using SAP BO 4.2 but still facing this issue.

Is this a bug or limitation of the Webi when working with BEx queries?

Regards,

Kiran

Hi,

It should behave as expected.

if you have filtered on Merged dimension, then you should see filtered result set on report.

Post a screen shot of your result.

Thanks,

Jothi

Hello Kiran,

This was noticed in BI 4.0 which was fixed then 1662109 - BI4.0 Merged BW dimension cannot be added to the filter bar

Does the Filter works if the object is not merged ?
Check the workflow by using Input control as well.

Hi Neha,

I am not able to open your link.

Yes the filter works separately when not merged and also works if merged but only key field.

If the merging is done on the text field filtering gives incorrect results.

And we are on BO 4.2 for which I feel that if this issue had been fixed in BO 4.0 its should have come in here.

Can you try replicating the issue with a sample version and let me know?

Kiran

Hi,

I'm on 4.2 and have no issues having a input control filter on Merged dimension ( Key or Text).

Can you share a screen shot of the merged dimension and technical name.

Thanks,

Jothi

I separately tied in a dummy webi report and found its working correct.

But we were facing issues in main report. However, we are suspecting it could be data issue.

Lets say we have values as below

Object Key Object Text

B01 Building 1

B02 Building 2

B03 Building 2

B04 Building 4

Suppose, for any two keys the text value came out to be same and then we have filtering on merged text. How will it behave?

Kiran
