PME : Master Data from ECC

All,

I have a question on the Product modeling environment in CRM 7.0. As I understand the models created in CRM 7.0 cannot be exported back to ECC.

However, for creating the models in CRM, can I use the master data from ECC and do the modelling in CRM.

i.e. Can I download materials from ECC and just do the modeling in CRM? Subsequently, we want to create Opportunities and Sales Orders in CRM with NO replication to ECC. Only use customers and materials from ECC.

Thanks,

Ken Reid

yes, you can download the materials from ECC in the form of knowledge bases and do modelling in CRM

What do you mean by download as Knowledgebase? I though you create a KB only when you have a VC in ECC and create a KB if you want download to CRM or for ECC-ISA.

I do not want to create a model on ECC, but only in CRM. Can I use the regular material download for material master from ECC to CRM and then model the product in CRM, without any repercussions?

Please clarify.

Thanks

you are right ,VC materials in ECC are downloaded as KB to CRM or ISA and you can configure the product in CRM ,which uses PME for configuring the products

This bring back to my earlier question. Can I use PME to create models in CRM (using the master data from ECC).

Please note: I am asking about creating NEW MODELS in CRM not re-using them from VC via the KBs

Thanks,
