SAP Native HANA as source System for BW on HANA

Hi All

I have a more architectural level question, I see a lot of content for this on the web but really what I am looking for our expert opinions, probably from architects who might have done this before.

So, we are soon going to be upgrading to SAP BW 7.5 on HANA and we would like to leverage another Native HANA system as our source system. We do have BODS as an option but I am thinking there has to be a better best practice around this since these are both SAP systems and both are going to be HANA 2.0 databases. I was thinking if Smart Data Integration could be used for this purpose ? What are the other options that I might have that could give me as "seamless" an integration as possible ?

All opinions and advise is appreciated.

Thanks

Sameer

    Hi Sameer,

    Below are few options available.

SLT - If you want to load the data to BW on HANA in real time basis.

SDA - If you don't want to load data physically and pull the data via objects like Open ODS view etc. whenever required.

BODS - If you wish to load data periodically to target BW on HANA Systems,as real time is not a recommended method using BODS.

SDI/SDQ - This option can also be used in this scenario, but mentioned that all replications and transformations happen in target system(HANA component of BW on HANA system).

Comparison needs to be done diligently before choosing an option.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Jay.
