Hello SAP Community,
I want to know the steps and the technical needs , the check list , and the installation & configuration, for the upgrade of the SAP BO 4.1 SP5 to SAP BO 4.2 SP5.
We have 3 environments , DEV , QA , & PROD , there is two noeuds in QA and PROD , and just one for the DEV .
Can you please advise me with the best practices for this upgrade.
Thanks in advance.
Regards ,
In addition to what Denis has said, if you have any custom code that uses the BI Platform or Semantic Layer SDK's, you MUST recompile it to include the new version of the SDK. In the past your code might have still connected to the BI Platform (not supported configuration, but I've seen it...), but all of the security libraries have been upgraded at 4.2 SP4, so anything that uses the SDK has to be compiled with the newer version in order to be able to log in to the server.

this topic is extensively documented in product documentation (help.sap.com), in blogs on this site , in Q&A's on this site, and in KBA's -- have you tried searching?
Do you have specific questions ?
If you haven't - please start with pattern books : https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Business+Intelligence+Platform+-+Pattern+Books+Index
The one on upgrade from 4.x to 4.2 covers the exact scenario you have mentioned.
