Closing POs

Hi ,

Please let me know whether Closing POs mean checking the "Delivery Completed " indicator or we have to do any other seeting to close the POs.

If you check the Delivery Completed indicator, The Status of the Open Qty Will be zero.

but the system still allows further GR..

to avoid that, you need to change the PO Qty to GR Qty and check it as Delivery Completed.

OR

You need to mark the PO line with deletion indicator...

Yes you are right ....Also kindly note that if Delivery Completed " indicator is checked in the PO....It means that PO is completed...

Hi

1. if you check delivery completed indicator, still you can do the GRN only budget will come back if the acct assignment is Q or P

2. if Partial GR done for the line the only option is to lock the line item, then only system will not allow to do the GR, here also budget will come back for the acct assignment P or Q

3. system will not allow to delete the line items( GR with partial Qty)

4. you can also decrease the line item Qty.

hello,

Checking the delivery complete indicator is not means PO is closed .it is only for statastical purpose in MRP.

if u want to shortclose the POs -

U need to change the PO qty to GR received quantity.

E.g.

IF PO qty is 100

and GR is donee for only 80

then if u change the qty from 100 to 80 this means u have closed(short closed) the PO.

Closing the PO, if you set only the delivery completed indicator i do not think it will work as you per yourrequirement.. Just check evenif you set the indicator it will still allow you do GR. If you wish to do no further GR for the PO line item then you have to lock it. Or else if you are setting the indicator during GR after deciding that you do not want to receive any more materials then it will work perfectly. Please chekc this out.

Hi,

Closing the PO's means u cant do further transaction with the PO ie u cant do the GR.

If u check the delivery indicator check box then u cant do the GR for that particular line item and the line item is closed.

Even if the line item has the open qty to do GR but the system will not allow to do GR since the delivery complete indicator is set.

Since the delivery indicator is at the line item level , if PO's has multiple line items and DC indicator is for only first line item, then PO is not closed, the DC has to be set for all the line item, if u want to close the PO forcibly.
