Cannot run Crystal report in SAP

Former Member

Dear all,

I install the crystal report add-on and upload a report. I also installed CRRuntime_12_1_mlb.exe

When I preview the report, I got this error message

Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, version=12.0.2000.0, culture=neutral,publickeytoken=692fbea5521e1304' or one fo its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Any idea? thanks

Regards,

Yuka

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has tried to install the Crystal Launcher on Windows 7.

I have installed it however when the addon tries to connect I receive an error message

"Retrieving the COM factory for component with CLSID

{3EBB7859-E4E3-4D77-B673-C6E5AD529CC1} failed due to the following error: 800700c1"

Any ideas on what this means and if it is possible to run the launcher on this operating system.

I have a client where it is working fine for all workstations except for this one.

The addon version is 2.0.0.6

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

One suggestion: why not install Crystal report basic on their client only? It may not be a good idea to install it on the server. You will easily have more power and control on their client.

Thanks for the reply Du.

I haven't got any chance to say, I installed Crystal add-on and crystal runtime on her workstation (haven't been able to install Crystal basic 2008) then she got an error message like the one on my first message. She cannot run the crystal report in SAP even I didn't install Crystal report basic 2008.

Any idea...

Thanks.

The problem is: you have to clean it up before to do anything else!

As it is their SAP server, I would like to know where I can find the instruction to clear up the reg.

Their IT person won't be able to help on this since it was me install the add-on.

I am not a SA or a DBA. I won't be able to know everything of the OS. I follow all the instruction of SAP, but failed on installation. Would it be possible for us to find some instruction on how to clean up the reg of Crystal report? Thanks.

Based on your message, I think it might not be possible for you to complete the task. To install this application successfully, you need to have much more power on the server. Otherwise, no matter what you follow, you will surely miss out something out of your control.

Have you checked this thread yet:

Thanks Du.

I just checked that. I cannot find anything helpful. Maybe I miss some help information?

Please let me know where I should look into. The Q&A doesn't have the information I am looking for.

If I install everything on C drive, do you think that will be helpful? Thanks.

I have crystal report runtime been installed. I have crystal report add-on been installed. I have verified they have .net framework 3.5 been installed. I saved the file to the shared folder not the local computer.

Any idea? Thanks.

When you set up the link to the report file, you need to navigate to the report via Network places to get a path set
servername\report rather than C:\report. Have you checked that?

Yes. I always make sure that when I upload the report for our customer.

Then it may be permissions to the report file, the error message is clear, it cannot find the report file it is being asked to run.

Double check your permissions to the report and the syntax of the path to the report in the report properties

I saved it to B1_SHR folder and I can open the report by Crystal report basic 2008. Any other issue I should check? thanks.

If you go to Crystal Reports Administration from the B1 Client, then Manager Crystal Reports. Select the required report and view it's properties. This is where the path needs to be NOT C:\, as this will point to the local PC, not the server.

I am sure the path is not from the PC but from a shared folder. Thanks.

Where are you encountering the issue in previewing from?

Manage Crystal reports >> 'Preview and Print'.

If I go to the module I have the report >> Crystal report >> Preview and print, i got the same error message.

I uploaded a blank report, still the same error message.

Thanks

Then I have no answers other than that there is likely an issue with the path set in the Report set up under Crystal Reports Administration, sorry.

Some one else may be able to help

Dear all,

I removed everything Crystal report run time, Crystal report add-on, Crystal basic and re-install them.

After I re-install Crystal report run time and Crystal report add-on, I can run the report.

But when I tried to re-install Crystal report basic, I got an error message:

Error 1904. Module c:\program files\business objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\ReportConvTool.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024769

Any idea???

Thanks.

Dear All,

Now the question like this (I installed the programs on E drive since our customer don't want us install them on C drive)

1) If I install Crystal report runtime first, then I won't be able to install Crystal basic 2008. I got an error message as my last message

2) If I install Crystal basic 2008 first, I can install Crystal report runtime and open Crystal report. But, I cannot open Crystal basic 2008. I got an error message "The procedure entry point ?Printlegend@CmapXlegend@SCLib300@QAEXJJJJJ@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library cslibu-3-0.dll". it looks like Crystal report runtime 12 update some dll then Crystal report basic cannot be used.

Please advise. Thanks.

The message our customer don't want us install them on C drive rings a bell. In this case, you may not have anyways to clear up the mess. I believe some system files have to be on the C drive. So may also need to be cleaned up when you need to.

Thanks for the reply Du.

How can I clean the mess?

As I said, if I install Crystal basic first, then install crystal runtime, I cannot use Crystal basic 2008.

If I install crystal runtime 12 first, I cannot install Crystal basic 2008. I can click ignore when I get the error message to let the installation to be finished. But I still cannot use Crystal basic 2008 and crystal runtime 12 cannot be used as well.

what should I do then? Thanks.

When you said I can click ignore when I get the error message to let the installation to be finished, that should be avoid in any cases in the first place. I am afraid there is no easy solution since Windows already remembered this Ignore so that you have to clear Registry file if you know how to do.

Thanks for the reply Du.

Would it be possible for you to let me know how to clear the reg file? Thanks.

To modify reg file, it is very risky. If you don't know much about it, do not touch it.

I really don't want to.

Then how can I install Crystal report basic and Crystal report run time for our customer...

Thanks.

Hi ,

It looks like you have incorrupt installation as well as version mismatch .

Sorry , ut I guess you have to reinstall the crystal addon ....

Crystal basic is only for designer ...not related with addon .

Make sure you remove temporary files while installation .

Hope this helps

Our customer needs Crystal report basic to design her report.

She also need the add-on to run the report in SAP.

I have to install crystal add-on, crystal report runtime, crystall report basic on the server.

i have to install crystal add-on, crystal report runtime on her workstation (not done yet)

If I only install the add-on and the crystal runtime on the server, I can preview the reports.

But I have to install Crystal report basic as well. How can I do that?

I already go Run %temp% and clean all temp files. But I may have to clear up the reg.

I would like to know how to do that then I can install all the components they need on the server then work on the workstations.

Thanks.
