Optimizer is not considering MZ SS Method

Former Member

Hello APO Gurus!

I need to use the MZ SS Method for SNP optimizer. I did all the configuration needed, regarding macros, key figures, product master data. I used as a model the planning book 9ASNP_SSP, data view SAFETY. I changed the macros to use the key figure Safety Day's Supply also. I changed the SS method in material master data to MZ. The safety stock is calculated when I put the number of days in key figure safety day's supply. But when I run the snp optimizer, the production is not anticipated to form stock.

I don't know if I am not seeing the right results. I need some help on how to analyse it or if some configuration is missing.

I used as reference the following notes:

504253, 646738, 858794, 703361, 1308043

Our version is 5.1 SP09

Can somebody help?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Angela

Hi Angela,

1) You do not enter the safety days' supply in the location product master. If any value is maintained,

remove the same and try

2) Moreover, try applying OSS note 1308043 which is based on SCM 5.1 and check the

error

Hello Senthil

I removed the safety day's of supply in the material master and left only in safety day's supply in the key figure in planning book, but it didn't worked already.

This macro only works for time bucket profile in days? My time bucket profile is monthly... Is there any other configuration that I need to do, so the optimizer can read the safety stock calculated?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi Angela,

With the period-based (dynamic) safety stock methods MZ and MM,

you do not enter the safety days' supply in the location product master;

instead, you enter it directly in the planning table for interactive planning

in the relevant periods.

As MZ is period dependent data, you need to define the period-dependent

parameters in the interactive planning function of Supply Network Planning

(SNP) only.

Please check and confirm

Hello Senthill

Thanks for your rapid response.

I did enter the day's of supply in the key figure safety day's supply in planning book in interactive planning, but it did not work.

What do you mean about "As MZ is period dependent data, you need to define the period-dependent parameters in the interactive planning function of Supply Network Planning (SNP) only." ?

What parameters should I define?

Thanks a lot!
