How to add an extended field to an un-extendable BO on SAP Applications Studio

Hello,

I am trying to add an extend the following BO:

On SAP BYDesign: Personnel Administration --> Employees --> select random employee

I want to add a check-box field to the private data.

My first try was with the Adaptation mode. whenever i tried to extend a field it brings up an error : 'Field creation not permitted in partner development mode'.

I turned off the PDI access rights and than i had no permission to get to the extended field in the adaptation mode.

My Second try was in the SAP Applications Studio. I tried to extend Business Partner --> Employees.

But it doesn't allow me to extend elements.

Is there a way to extend a new Check-Box field there?

Hello Dor,

Try to achieve your requirement in BO Business Partner which is a Parent BO for Employee. (check Employee BO and the documentation for its nodes and PSM within Repository Explorer)
It seems there are no Write Access in the Employee BO's nodes.

Hi Alon ,

Employee BO is extandable using XBO. Please check the repositry explorer and start developement.

Just add one sample text field and try to enhance sreen I guess there is some small point that you're missing in this.

You should be able to add extension fields to the Employee BO, Common Node via SAP Applications Studio.

Add Item > Business Object Extension > namespace: AP.FO.BusinessPartner.Global, BO: Employee

I tried to extend it there, but when i tried to add new element for extended field (in the root node) it failed.
