Mobile Online vs. Mobile for Handheld (MSon / MSA HH)

Hi,

I struggle to see the difference between the using formulation "offline" and "online". I would like to take the example MSon (Mobile Sales Online) and MSA HH (Mobile Sales for Handhelds). According to my information, both are based on different approaches, but one solution needs a online (MSon) connection and the other (MSA HH) can work partially offline.

However, if I see the application MSA HH in front of me, I only can access MSA HH if I logon to the Netweaver Mobile Infrastructure via the browser, so I basically forced to logon online to be able to start the application. Now I am struggling a little bit, as it should be possible to work offline, but I see a browser based solution in front of me - how this can be combined with words like "offline"?

Thanks for your response in front,

Andreas
