Grouping problem

Former Member

Hello,

Have a BW query with some characteristics in the rows and 3 KF's.

Its almost like this

char1 char2 CHAR3 kf1 kf2 kf3,kf4 , where CHAR3 is the char i am concerned about

and this is the way it looks in query output .

CHAR3 | kf1 | kf2 | kf3 | kf4

A | 2 | 1 | 0 | 0

B | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1

I need the count of kf1,kf2,kf3 grouped as per CHAR3, for which I have tried using group operator.

Group by field CHAR3 to group1 then sigma sum on kf1,similarly for kf2,kf3 and kf4.

But this gives the same value for all Kf's .

Also tried with different group operators for each kf ,but again the same result.

The result always shows the values with respect to kf1.

Need to use all these values count further in a chart .

Would appreciate help on this.

Sandeep,

Thank you for responding . If this is a part of my query output where

I have other characteritics other than CHAR 3

CHAR3 | kf1 | kf2 | kf3 | kf4

A | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0

B | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1

A | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1

So my VC output should be

A | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0

B | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1

which is the the count of KF's for each of the values A,B.

Are you looking for count or sum of KF?

Why are you using two separate operators?

Use only group operator, in group operator select Char3 as Group 1 and then select KF with Sum or count whatever you want.

Hi

Is there any field in the rows of your BI query after Char3? If yes then Display result of that field.

You need filter operator, enter 'result*' in the field which is after char3 field. then you will get required result.

If there is any doubt, then let me know.
