Needed IDM for a POC and demo using SUM tool

Dear SAP experts,

We already having NW 7.40 running with Java runtimes (J00/jstart/icman/igs) etc. Also the instance already have a DB here.

We need to demo/POC SAP-IDM and install the IDM using SUM tool.

Do I need to install it SWPM only or can I use SUM tool to install few .SCA files to install IDM?

I do not want to create a new DB for IDM or new SAP/JAVA running instances for this IDM and wanted to make use of existing SAP/JAVA and DB components.

Is there any .SCA files to install IDM?

Your answer will help us a lot.

thanks and best regards,

    Hi Kannan,

Please use the following link to access the IDM 8 install documentation.

I do believe they are in the process of automating IDM installation with SUM for V8. This is not available for V7, which is being retired shortly.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the SAP links. SUM tool for IDM's certain components are already available say for example REST v.2, HTML5 - these two components can be installed thru SUM using few .sca files.

I need to understand whether can we use SUM to install other components of IDM say IDM database, IDM core, IDM User Interface etc.

Also I am not clear whether SAP NW JAVA installed oracle-DB can be extended / used for Identity Center DB. If so is there any documents for it.

Say for example - I can see, include.sql scripts etc are available for 7.2 and IDM DB can be installed manually without SWPM or SUM. I do not see the same for 8.0 and SAP gives only SWPM option only for most of the components(for 8.0)

Any lights on above topics will be greatly appreciated.

    thanks and best regards,
