Need Production Order BOM Display During CO15

Former Member

We are not backflushing so the All Components flag is not selected in OPK4. We are on 4.7 and using discrete production orders: No BW, BI, WM. or APO.

The confirmation and component issues are accomplished via interfaces with a third party WM system. The users need to be able to perform CO15 to make adjustments while viewing the production order BOM.

Is it possible to display the production order BOM and issue components (maybe via User Exit CONFPP07) during a manual CO15 even though no components are listed on the Goods Movement tab?

I have searched through notes, help and forums but do not see any references.

Hi,

Just a question - any specific reason as to why you do not want to tick all components in OPK4 ?

I think it would be a simpler approach instead of going in for an user exit.

Alternatively you can evaluate the usage of BAPI - BAPI_PRODORDCONF_CREATE_TT for doing your confirmations via a Z report where you can implement your logic.

Hi Vivek,

Thanks for a speedy reply.

1) Why not use All Components? This was specified by the process owner - not my choice. You are correct in that it would be much simpler. However, for logistics reasons, the owner chooses to issue all components (via an interface) to the production line in whole shipping units and return the unused portion to stock manually.

2) We will evaluate your BAPI suggestion but it may be precluded due to our defined process of using the interface for confirmations..

Thanks,

Joe

Joseph,

If you set this indicator then system assumes all components are backflush at confirmation regardless of whather you want them to backflush or not.

So obviously you cannot use this for your requirement. If user needs to make adjustments to confirmation they can do it in CO15. But for adjustments to Goods issue they have to go to tcode : MB1A or MIGO to manually issue or adjust the components goods movement.

It does not help you but that is how they will have to adjust. Good Luck.

Hi Ram,

In this process, even though the bulk of confirmations are done automatically through an interface, they have defined an adjustment step using a manual CO15 to fine tune the production that includes entering components on the Goods Movements tab of the CO15. However, they need to know what is in the production order BOM during this process. It seems possible to have two screens up during this activity but the process owner has requested that the operators be able to access the production order BOM within the manual confirmation to avoid entry errors and to ease the entry task for the operators.

Thanks for the reply,

Joseph

Joseph,

In that case it makes sense to use CO15 with (use all components in OPK4) goods movement overview.

The operator can then view the production order BOM components in the goods movement overview. Next they can choose to add (or delete) any components that they want (or do not want ) to issue to the order.

Snapshot of Goods movement overview screen in CO15 is shown below :

2000001062 EA 4000 FGIS S 101

4000004936 EA 4000 LIPS H 261

1000006947 EA 4000 LIPS H 261

3000000613 EA 4000 SMIT H 261

3000000614 EA 4000 SMIT H 261

I guess this should satisfy your process owner as operators can view order BOM components, do the goods issue as well as confirm order with Goods reciept of header material (all in just 1 transaction).

I am confident this will resolve your issue. Else please come back with questions.

Thanks,

Ram

Hi Ram,

The use of backflushing is prohibited by the process owner so the All Components solution is out. That is, unless I can convince him to modify the interface so that the components are deleted from each automatic confirmation; allowing then the display of components in the manual CO15. This will be discussed.

At this point, my task is to find a way (with all configuration and master data set to 'No Backflush') to allow the users to see the production order BOM during the manual CO15 preferably with the ability to cause component issues of same just as in the more standard arrangement where backflushing is used.

I will greatly appreciate any ideas or suggestions to help to accomplish this.

Thanks,

Joseph
