2 APS servers for Design Studio SAP BO

Hello all,

I would like to ask if there is any possibility to set up two different APS servers for SAP BO BI, which would work with Design Studio but in case that one of the APS servers would be against one ABAP SAP system and the other one to different one?

Or even in case if it is not possible is there possibility to have 2 APS servers so one APS server is not overloaded? If yes, is there any step by step how to set it up correctly?

Hello Gustavo,

and is it possible to choose in OLAP connections to use one of the APS servers when pointing to ABAP system?

Hello Peter,

This is Gustavo from Design Studio Expert Support.

The Web Intelligence tool is able to use multiple APS to fetch all necessary services between them.

Design Studio does not have such flexibility. All necessary services should be inside the APS from Design Studio.
For an APS being considered eligible to render a Design Studio dashboard, it needs to have the Analysis Application Service inside it. All APS that have this service will be considered Design Studio APS. It is possible to have multiple Design Studio APS and, in this case, each APS should have ALL necessary services inside it. The load balance will be done between them automatically.

Regarding APS pointing to different ABAP systems, this is not possible at APS level, but possible at OLAP Connection. Create each connection pointing to the desired system.

Thank you and Regards,
