Error MUT-03025, FCO-00011 during installation AS ABAP 7.52 SP01 Trial

I get the following error consistently on fedora workstation. #ABAP_Trial

However after attempting sudo ./install.sh -g

root/root is not accepted on login and prompt for icm_auth

I would appreciate quick responses from the community on this.

After investing ample time in resolving ASE instance issues, I figured out to try virtualbox method for installation and it worked on first attempt despite ignoring some steps.

I suggest new learners to try virtualbox method as it is easy and confirmed working on first attempt.

I am trying with the VBOX-Method but I am getting exactly those errors (errno=MUT-03025 / errno=FCO-00011) before NPL-installation fails.

@Muhammad Ilyas, what do you mean by Virtual Box method installation. Could you give us more details?. Not sure what do you mean?.

Hi Muhammad,

I apologize for the delay. No, for licensing reasons - for both AS ABAP and the ASE database - you should not simply publish the .ova image.

Your organization / customers can get as many installations as they want, completely free, but each needs to get a free license.

It's an honesty system, but if there is too much abuse, then we can't justify working on the next free version (such as, possibly, SP3).

I' have a concern for NW7.53, it isn't available for EHP8.

Yes you can. This is own risk, but you are not actually dealing with a production system, so business impact is not an issue.

Thanks Julie, you're right there isn't a business impact of above activity. We are running oracle with AS ABAP currently, and looking to upgrade prior to maintenance ended for our system. I have exported ova image for importing into vmware, should I publish it for new-abapers to import and run AS ABAP 7.52 without any installation. I fear it would shade many blogs on installation topic.

Hi Muhammad, I've looked up your issue in SAP Notes:

2037606 - Temporary database based on the specified soft binding could not be assigned - SAP ASE

If you can't access this, it just says:

"Reproducing the Issue

Two ways to reproduce this issue are:

1. Users attempt to log in before the boot cycle has finished and the tempdbs are not yet online.

2. The boot order is as such that the tempdb is not available at the time the soft binding is being executed.

Cause

These log entries are normal and occur when a user login is soft-bound to a user-defined temporary database group but there are no active databases in the group (e.g. databases did not recover). ASE then seeks out a database in the default group and writes an entry in the log.

Resolution

These message can normally be ignored. You should see the tempdbs working - once the server has fully come online."

Sorry to ask the very obvious: But can you get in? If not, please let me know. However, I fear that our team will say that this is an ASE-specific issue. So the fastest way may be to post a question in the ASE:
