Hello all,
I've been struggling with an identity issue these past few weeks and I'm curious to see if anyone has any suggestions.
First, allow me to lay out the situation. My company email address is currently associated with three different users. I know this by visiting https://accounts.sap.com. The accounts break down as follows:
So during normal work on SAP websites I'm totally fine because I can explicitly state which account I want to login with. The problem arises when working in the Cloud Foundry environment. Many of the tools in Cloud Foundry appear to require email address logins rather than S/P-User logins. This means that my identity is seemingly a random selection among my three accounts. I've been able to prove this randomness by entering my email address and incorrect login information enough times to get locked out and in the corresponding email for the lock-out I've seen both the S-User and P-User 1 listed as the account being locked.
So within the context of CF, my account situation is sub-optimal. My initial attempt to resolve this was to make sure all my passwords were consistent across each account, which in this case is just the S-User and P-User 1 because I cannot access P-User 2. I still found myself unable to access certain CF tools, most notably Kibana. In fact, when I use the "Forgot password" option on the Kibana login form and enter my email address, I receive an error stating that: Login name <email address> isn't unique for user: <S/P-User ID>.
My next attempt was to switch up my email addresses for my accounts. What I'm finding though is that it is not possible to change an email address for an account, at least on sites like https://people.sap.com and https://accounts.sap.com. I have found that I can modify my S-User ID email address on https://launchpad.support.sap.com but it does not appear to impact the email address associated with the actual account when I check the other two locations.
Based on my initial research into the email address modification question, I found responses from 2017 that indicated it is not possible to change an email address. Is that still the case now, more than a year later?
If I assume it is still not possible to modify an accounts email address that leads me to one other question: is it possible to delete an SAP account? I believe that would be another solution to this problem. (There is the answer to this question but is reaching out to SAP directly really the only way to achieve this? https://answers.sap.com/questions/470897/close-my-account-in-sapcom.html)
I have been offered one other solution by SAP Customer Support which was to file an incident on the support portal. I'm treating that as a last resort though so I'm hoping the community can provide some more insight before I go down that path.
Thanks!
Brian
I think you don't have a lot of content under your P-ID's. Both can be deleted. Then you can create a new P-ID with e-mail different from S-ID.

"I have found that I can modify my S-User ID email address on https://launchpad.support.sap.com but it does not appear to impact the email address associated with the actual account when I check the other two locations." - in my case different e-mails for S-ID and P-ID are working fine. And for login I am using S-ID or P-ID, not e-mail.
"is it possible to delete an SAP account?" - it's possible to delete P-ID, write to support.
P.S. And I am using different browsers with S-ID an P-ID (IE and Firefox)
