wip calculation

Hi guru,

My customer wants to have the wip calculation periodically and not when the production order is delivered.

Please, could you suggest me something?

I find two RA FERT and FERT-P. Can I use this?

please, could you tell me where I can find documentation that explain the difference from result analysis key FERT and FERT-P and which issue I can have if I change this key in production orders from FERT to FERT-P

Thanks in advance

Regards

Results analysis key are to be configured and set up to default on the production orders. The configuration relating to Results Analysis would provide with options what need to be capitalised, which accounts need to be involved to make WIP entries etc. Once the requisite configuration is done, Calculating WIP would be a period end processes.

The system calculates on all open orders and passes the accounting entry at period end. The same value gets reversed automatically, the following period. The system calculates all the cost in open orders, reduces the value of goods delivered to arrive at the WIP.

Hi SHridar,

Thanks for your help but I don't use product cost collector. Is the same for production order?

Thanks

The concept is all the same. For a more detailed information, please click http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/5f/72369adc56d11195100060b03c6b76/frameset.htm

Choose Cost Object Controlling > Product cost by order> Period end closing> Working in progress.

You can calculate WIP for individual production orders.
