I have a question bugging me here about reserved stock in MMBE. A process order/manufacturing order is created to use 4000 pc. Now when I open MMBE, I see 4000 as reserved quantity, and 6000 as Unrestricted stock.
Now was my stock 10,000 pc before this reservation? or the stock was 6000, and now 4000 would be used, which will leave 2000 pc after the manufacturing/process order is finished?
This confusion stemmed from the fact that in some cases where I had 0 stock, I saw some quantity as "reserved stock". My previous understanding was that reservation was only possible when you have quantity equal to or greater than required reservation on stock. So if someone made a process order of 4000 pc, and original stock was 10,000 pc, MMBE would show it as following>
Unrestricted stock: 6000
Reserved stock: 4000
But now my understanding is that if you make a process order for 4000, and stock is 10 000 MMBE will show
Unrestricted stock: 10,000
Reserved stock: 4000
Which one is correct here?
Hi Faisal Masud,
In Generally whenever creating/releasing of a production/process order reserved stock is generated for all components even stock is available in unrestricted use stock.

In MMBE -
Unrestricted use stock is actual/Physically present stock.
Reserved Stock is stock planned for Good Issue. You can check reservation by MB25.
As per your scenario -
A process order/manufacturing order is created to use 4000 pc. Now when I open MMBE, I see 4000 as reserved quantity, and 6000 as Unrestricted stock.
It means that Unrestricted to use stk 6000...reservation created due to order is for 4000..these 4000 qty you can issue for your order from unrestricted stock...after posting good issue ...Unrestricted stock will be 6000-4000=2000.

Mahesh.
