Display of wage type can be happen at Master data level and Processing level and in pay slip
wht exactly you are looking at for
Suppose I want to maintain Basic Pay as a display wagetype, where to configure in sap.

you want the amount \ number \ unit appearing in the basic pay WT to be non-modifiable...if my understanding is correct...
in table V_T539A assign 'Mode' as ' F', it will only display the value and cannot be over written
