Check installation cosistency of Lifecycle Manager LCM

Hi guys,

we have the LCM installed, but I'm not sure, if it is correctly installed.

If I open CMC -> Applications I can see an entry LCM.

1) This entry has no description?!?!

2) I can't even set the user security for this application.

Can you please share your expereince with that? Is there a general way how to check an installation?

Please have a look into your installation and look if you have a description and if you can set user security for this application....thanks in advance!

Rg,

Christian

Hello,

Did you check with the repair tool on the "add or remove programs" menu at server level (if you're on windows of course), or with the Software Inventory tool, in the Busines Objects menu ?

errr...

Maybe you could try another method to launch the Software Inventory tool :

1. Go to your java install dir (on windows default is C:\ProgramFiles\BusinessObjects\common\4.0\java\lib)

2. Launch this command (of course, adapting it to your env)

C:\ProgramFiles\BusinessObjects\javasdk\bin\java -Djava.library.path=.\external -Xmx256M -jar "C:\ProgramFiles\BusinessObjects\common\4.0\java\lib\softwareInventory.jar" gui

Hello Christian,

What I meant is that the tool I was refering to is in java. Hence you should be able to run it under your Linux server, if the same tool is available with a Linux install.

I do not know the default install dir for Java on Linux, that is why I put the windows one to guide you.

Can you see a description for LCM?

Hi,

i have LCM with SP2 applied.

open CMC -> Applications I can see an entry LCM, this entry has no description.

I can set the user security for this application.

In the CMC -> Servers do you see the LCM job server, is it running and enabled

from your description it seems that the LCM webapp was not deployed properly, can you reploy it again and test
