Variable Cost in Cost Splitting (KSS2 & KSII)

Dear Guru!

I have been given a task of splitting actual rate into Fixed and Variable. I have configured a splitting structure in such a manner for example Machine cost (All Cost element related to Machine) is divided by Actual Quantity to get the actual rate of Machine Activity Type for that month and cost center. I have also differentiated the cost element in KP06 i.e. Variable & Fixed Cost Element.

In addition to this, I have also configured Distribution Cost Allocation Cycle for all the cost coming from shared cost center.

Now what system is doing, which ever cost is directly posting in the production cost center, the system is differentiating it properly into variable and fixed cost. However when the cost is coming via Distribution Allocation Cycle, it is putting all the cost into Fixed.

For example, a cost element (electricity - variable), 2 posting is done in the month of September 2018, one in Shared Cost Center and other in Production Cost Center. What system is doing, the cost coming from Shared Cost Center is putting in Fixed cost while cost charging in Production Cost Center... it is putting it in proper variable cost.

My client wants both the cost treated as variable.

What mistake am I doing.

Hi Sajid,

It is standard SAP behaviour. All allocated cost system consider it as Fixed cost. After KSII You have to use KBK6 LSMW / BAPI to convert fixed activity rate to variable activity rate
