CU50 difference in Engineering BOM cost and Sales BOM cost

Former Member

Dear All,

I have material BOM M0001 --configurable...finished prodcuct (spe procuremt 52)

M2100-- confifurable --- Phontam (semi finished)

M8600---- configurable (semifinished) specP 52 R7000---

R7000--non configurable material

R7000--non configurable

R7000-- non configurable.

Now in T-code Cu50 under configuration tab simulation

1. when i am selecting Engineering Tab and then costing tab all materials are picked for Engineering BOM costing.

2. when i am selecting only costing tab (Sales).. then the material R7000--non configurable qty 54

R7000--non configurable qty 27

R7000-- non configurable. qty 18

are not costed.

What could be the reason for not picking the cost for the material R7000

R7000

R7000

Please help me..

Thanks in advance.

regards

Hello Janardhan,

This is standard SAP behaviour. As per details given by you, it seems that material's consfiguration profile have settings of "Order BOM" and "multi-level" in CU43 transaction. So for such settings, system behaves differently for Engineering BOM and sales order cost estimates as given below.

1. Click on u201CEngineeringu201D Button and then click on u201CCalculationu201D Button : System simulates the cost estimates through transaction CU51. And in CU51 BOM explosion for cost estimate is multilevel. So system will show all the components in the BOM of header material. So you will find all the components listed in Cost estimate simulation.

2. Directly click on u201CCalculationu201D button : System simulates the cost estimates as it use to simulate in VA01 transaction. Becasue of this, there is NO BOM explosion till last level. System will only simulate the Cost estimate by exploding the BOM till 1st level. So system will show only 1st level BOM components. So you will find only 1st level BOM components listed.

So dont try to check anything in it, as its standard SAP behaviour.

janardhan,

What i can predict is ,

In CU50 first you need to assign values to characterstic and then press Engineering, your BOM explosion will happen and the dependencies will work to selct the required components from super BOM, its the normal VC process.

as you are directly pressing teh costing tab , your BOM explosion is not happening and you are not getting cost at all level.

Check out and revert back for discussion.

hope it helps you.

Hi Ritesh,

Thanks for sending reply..

I have allready selected the values for all chrectaristics, and variant before choosing the engineering tab--> costing tab once for checking the engineering cost and then choosen only cost tab for checking the sales cost.

when i compare the two structures ..R7000 material cost is missing in sales costing.

why this material is missing in only sales costing?

Janardhan ,

what i said is with assumption that you are directly pressing costing tab.

so if there is difference in costing in engineering and sales , reason can be

1)you have 2 different BOMs with 2 usages ( engg as well as sales ), pls check in system

2) varient pricing is not maintain properly ( check with sales guys )

3) check in configuration profile , how many profiles are there , it may possible that there are more then one , with different BOM explosion ex, PP01 and CS01.

check and come back.

Dear Ritesh,

Thanks for guving prompt reply.

I have checked confuguration profile only one is maintained.

and found there are no two different boms and two usages.

my observation is in CU50 engineering tab is picking multilevel costing and where as sales tab is picking cost of single level only.

i want to know the diference how system picks the cost with Engineering Tab and Sales tab.

Hi Janardhan,

There is no difference , in both the cases it should explored the BOM as per the BOM application you set in configuration profile.

Please check what BOM application you maintained there and what usages it consider during explosion.

also check cost relevance tick in all BOM levels, including phantom level.

as i mention in my previous , please check varient pricing is mainted properly or not., for this yiou can take help from sales guys.

check and come back

Hi,

Check ur configuration profile settings. Pl mainatin config parameters as 1) Sales Order SET. 2) Application SD01 3) Bom Explosion Multi level. Check and come back.
