For a plant/material I have the following goods movements:

     641 5610296625 2 08/17/2009 50 EA
0001 101 5620073971 1 08/18/2009 50 EA
0001 601 5610298660 1 08/18/2009 25- EA
0001 701 5610598673 6 03/17/2010 1 EA
0001 702 5611454235 3 10/21/2011 1- EA
0001 641 5611861970 1 07/25/2012 25- EA
     641 5612828880 4 04/29/2014 4 EA
0001 101 5621091773 2 04/30/2014 4 EA
0001 601 5612833112 5 05/01/2014 4- EA

For this same plant / material I have these entries in table MARDH:

10544	3006	0001	2009	7	0.000
10544	3006	0001	2009	12	25.000
10544	3006	0001	2010	2	25.000
10544	3006	0001	2010	12	26.000
10544	3006	0001	2011	9	26.000
10544	3006	0001	2011	12	25.000
10544	3006	0001	2012	6	25.000
10544	3006	0001	2013	12	0.000
10544	3006	0001	2014	3	0.000
10544	3006	0001	2014	4	4.000

Notice that there is a goods movement 601 sale in Aug. 2009.

On the MARDH side there is a period 7, 2009 for zero and a peroid 12, 2009 record for 25. Where is the Aug 2009 MARDH entry? Why do I not see that in Aug 2009 my ending balance was 25 in MARDH? Why is there a Dec. 2009 MARDH record when there is no goods movement in the month before or after?

The records in MARDH seem to have no value at all. What am I missing?

Thank you!

Ok, I got this figured out. The entries in the MARDH table for period 12 are not created from goods movements. These were created by the program that saves the moving average cost to the previous moving average cost. They can be ignored in this data set. Once you do that you can see that a goods movement creates a new record in MARDH with the OHB as it was before the movement.

Makes sense now...

Thanks!

Thanks Tammy, I saw that but if you look at the data in my production system, i had a goods movement in Aug. 2009 and the Aug. 2009 balance was 25 per my goods movements. But there is no entry in MARDH until "12", which would be Nov. data correct?

From reading the other post I would expect to see a MARDH entry for peroid 9, 2009.

Bill,

Looking at this thread, I think it is explained: https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/188136

"MARDH is the history table, which shows the period before the period of MARD. It will only be updated, if posting is done for the previous period."
