HI

Yes you can Make as a Half day Absence for any type which you require

To fulfill this you need to do certain setting in the configuration

While you are creating the absence type you have an option of Minimum and Maximum

Make the Minimum Field as Blank so that the system allows even for Half day other wise based on Hours

Do the settings in the Below Path

IMG-> Time Management -> Time data recording -> Absence -> Absence Catalog -> Define Absence types

If you set the setting as blank it allows you to enter in to hours so that with the help of rounding rule to deduct the quota you can make Half day deduction for the specified quota

For ex

CR rounding Rule-CCL 001 0.25000

CR rounding Rule-CCL 002 0.25000 0.50000 0.50000

CR rounding Rule-CCL 003 0.50000 1.00000 1.00000

in the rounding rule 002 you will define the set of percentage for ex if you take 8 Hours a day then 2 Hrs is equal to 25% and 4 Hrs is equal to 50%

In the rule it say if the Absence type is entered More that 2Hrs less that 4 Hrs should be treated as Half day deduction for specified quota

Rounding rule Path

IMG-> Time Management -> Time data recording -> Absence -> Absence Catalog -> Absence Counting -> Rules for absence counting New -> Define counting rules -> (fourth sub tab) rounding rule

Hope you got idea

Thanks for the thread above, it is really helpful.

However, I got a question when I try to create an absence in IT2001.

If I want to create absence for 1.5 days, can I do it once by creating only one record in IT2001?

I've tried to do so but I found that if I enter a start date and end date which is more than 1 day when I create the absence, the system doesn't let me to key in the Absence Hours.

That means, if my start date is 29 Oct 2009 and end date is 30 Oct 2009, the absence become 2 days. I couldn't make it 1.5 days.

Does this mean that I should create one record for 1 day and another record for 0.5 day?

Thanks

Hi,

When ur trying to create an absence then for 1 days i sfine. But 1 day u want to book 1.5 days of absence doesnt make any sense.

Yes if u want to make 1.5 days then u have to have two Absence records one with 1 day and the other with half day.

Hope its clear.

Thanks
