Dear Experts,
please help, this is a really tough one...
We have a server, on which there are 2 SAP instances running. Last week we updated the first one and it went quite OK. Now we are doing the second and unfortunately we are stuck.
DBUA stopped right in the beginning, complaining that it can't start the DB in upgrade mode. And it showed the error
TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact
We pretty soon found out, that when we call sqlplus / as sysdba under the oracle user, with all the environment set correctly (yes, we are changing from oraSID to oracle), it is giving the following error:
$ sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL*Plus: Release 12.2.0.1.0 Production on Thu Oct 18 08:09:41 2018
Copyright (c) 1982, 2017, Oracle. All rights reserved.
ERROR:
ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact
Enter user-name:
In the course of a very long investigation, we found out, that:
- The permissions are set correctly to 6751
- listener.ora is correctly defined
- relink all didn't help either !!
- Found an oracle note on metalink, advising to reinstall Oracle 12c. After we did this, we found out, that even a freshly installed oracle is giving immediately the same error, when sqlplus / as sysdba is executed.
So we now completely stuck and absolutely out of ideas...
Could anyone please please please help !!
Symon,
It's been a long time. Hope your doing good. I ran into this problem sometime ago and it was some LISTENER parameter set in the environment variable that was causing the problem. Check if you have some unusual LISTENER parameters set in system and if yes remove it and then try.
