Cannot build Exercise 2 - Database Artifact Development

Former Member

I am following the openSAP course "Software Development on SAP HANA (Update Q4/2016)", and trying to complete the exercises explained in document "SAP HANA EXTENDED APPLICATION SERVICES, ADVANCED MODEL DEVELOPMENT" SPS 12 Patch 1.

I did install SAP HANA Express edition by deploying the downloaded OVA template onto vmware esxi server.

All seems ok, Exercise 1 (Hello world) is working.

Now after following all the instructions for Exercise 2, when doing a build I get this error:

In this phase I am just "monkey patching", so I really have no idea what is going on; "Missing access rights"?

Hi Francesco,

Thanks for coming back. Typically, you should start with the openSAP forum but if Thomas has indicated it's an issue with SAP HANA Express, I would suggest that you retag your question to the primary tag, "SAP HANA, Enterprise Express Edition" as this will then notify the moderators of that primary tag and they can help you.

I hope that helps!

Kind regards,

Claire

As this is a currently running course, you should submit this question in the discussion forum on openSAP. The experts that created the course content and are the presenters for the course, will be able to help you.

Hi Claire,

I was sure I strictly followed the instructions for getting support published by the course owner, i.e.:

And this is the indicated support channel

Anyway I'll try to do what you suggest, hope to be more lucky..

Claire,

I did as you suggested, and after checking security settings for the app Thomas Jung says that it has to be some specific problem with HANA Express, something like "the HDI service user can't call into the DB".

Can you help on this?

Best regards.
