I searched everywhere for the solution, even our SAP consultant could not solve the problem and advised us to just inactivated the items and create new items. But from this link https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_sbo91/9.1/en-US/45/2365db9e152b31e10000000a1553f7/content.htm?no_ca... , we found that the following need to be checked and sorted.

1. Make sure there is no stock, including any "available to promise" orders.

2. Make sure any open document (PO, GRN or Invoice) is open / pending. This can be easily (or sometimes not) checked using the audit report from the item master window, then checking each receipt document checking if it is open. You need to close the document in order to proceed.

If all these are cleared then you can change the option to manage by serial numbers. Hope this helps.

Please check the following;

1. make a goods issue and enter the same itemcode in quantity you will see the stock quantity.

2. check the receipt from production or Goods receipt draft and cancel all these documents.

3. restart services of SAP B1.

check the above steps. these steps solved the same problem.

Just as a note: In normal operation it should be unnecessary and forbidden to restart any server processes, that should be clear to everyone. So, such subjective recommendations should be interpreted very cautiously. First of all, the official solution or recommendation by SAP should be taken. All issues occurring in operation should be documented, SAP Business One is an extremely proven and mature solution.
