source interface and target interface in mapping

I follow [this link |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=%28J2EE3414700%29ID1552587150DB02909091371560641751End?blog=/pub/wlg/5378]

1. Create products, software component versions, technical systems, business systems in the System Landscape Directory (SLD).
2. Import the software component version into the Integration Repository (IR) from the SLD and start developing the source/target messages, source/target message interfaces and mapping between source and target systems.
3. Import the business systems into the Integration Directory (ID) and start configuring the sender/receiver communication channels, agreements, receiver and interface determination that binds the interfaces and the routing.

I've done the first and the second step. Now I have a question. How to import data to the source interface, and receive the data from target interface?

Thanks.

Hi,

Should have made the breadth small..difficult to scroll ...

ok. so you have defined the message mappings and interface mappings in the IR if PI7.0 or ESR if PI7.1

then you need to open the ID ..for associating the mappings created using design repository...

for this need to identify which is sender system/application(Business system/service..) and what protocol its going to send data(adapter/cpmmunication channel and sender agreement)

and finally who is receiver of this data...for this (create Receiver determination, interface determination and receiver agreement)

get back if not clear

Hi mikenl ,

How to import data to the source interface, and receive the data from target interface?

> XI/PI works on real time mode . At runtime either adapters pick the data/or data is handed over to the adapters . these adapters further converts the data into XML .

and from there onwards mesaage mapping/interface mapping takes place ..vice versa .

Suggest you to go through the XI PI pipelin esteps..which will help you to understand how XI/PI works internally .
