ODS View Transformation

Hello, I´m using a ODS View based on a virtual table (SDA) and need to transform a Timestamp field NUMC(21) to a BW Format DATS(0DATE). How can this be solved, the only way I can think of is creating another ODS with a HANA Transformation.

Instead of building the ODS View directly on a virtual table, you can create a Calculation View (or a SQL view) on the Virtual Table - and then build the Open ODS view on top of your Calc View or SQL view.

It is a little bit of overhead, and you pay a price in terms of 'data lineage' (following the flow from source to target) but if you are clever with your naming conventions, that is all manageable. In return, you get great flexibility!
