pull projects from HDI

Hi Guys,

Playing around with WEBIDE and GIT I understand the concept of containers and GIT.

What is still not clear to me is how to change\fetch a development which is already deployed in the system, for example SHINE.In the old sys_repo, with the right privilages I could find shine in the studio, but in the new HDI I couldn’t find any way than fetching it from GIT(or in this case GITHUB)

is there a way to PULL modeles which are deployed in my HANA system?

There is no way to pull repository objects from the deprecated HANA repository into WebIDE for SAP HANA. If you are searching for the SHINE content for XS Advanced, check the GitHub repository here.

I think you are still conflating the concepts of design time and runtime in way that doesn't exist in HANA any longer. When you import an MTAR, only the runtime objects are persisted. There is no repository within the DB any long and the act of importing an MTAR doesn't send anything to Git.

This means you might not really have access to the design time objects for content delivered by SAP. However if we want you to have easy access to them, as is the case with SHINE, we publish them in github: https://github.com/SAP/hana-shine-xsa

On the other hand, this means that you don't even have to install the MTAR if you don't want to. If you just want to work with the design time objects from SHINE, simply clone the repo from github.

Thanks guys, so now i understand there is no global place in HANA to keep the design time objects and we must use GIT solution to mange\share our code between developers. Is there an SAP solution or recommended on promise solution for GIT code management for customers that still dont use GIT?

    Thanks
