A universe X was created in designer (using administrator status). A group was then created in CMC (group_X) and users ( user_X) were added to this group.
The group has Advanced access to the secure connection attached to this universe, Advanced access to universe X as well as Advanced access to desk top intelligence (Business Objects Enterprise Applications).
However, after logging onto Desktop Intelligence as user_X,
The following screens were returned:
" New Report Wizard "
Where universe_26306 is universe_X.
Followed by :
"Could not Import the Universe"
And
"Could not find the usivserse "

Which version of BO are you using ? Because rights in XI 3 are different than other version.

Stratos,
I also gave the group access to > Designer ( after reading the recommendation given ) - however, now I have the following error after allowing the user to log into Designer:
*'Failed to initialize import/export dialog.
Failed to retrieve root*
*universes folder You may not have permission to view this folder'.*

I think you had to assign extra rights in the CMC > BusinessObjects Applications > Desktop Intelligence. But I don't recall which ones. I think it depended such as whether you wanted users to be able to just edit universes, or refresh. Try by granting all the rights there and taking away what you don't want. This may also be written up as an SAP note.

Tim
