Hello,

Please help, we would like to install Eclipse Mars or Neon with the IdM plugin however it appears you can only install the Plugin online and not offline.

Our situation is that we are in a secure network with no internet access and the only way to download software is either via the SAP download manager via a proxy or through a very secure transport process.

Is there any way we can retrieve the offline install files for the Identity Management Plugin for Eclipse Mars or Neon?

Hello Nick,
online install is the default delivery method for the SAP Eclipse tools. If this is still not an option then please open an incident with SAP Support where we can check with the software delivery team if an alternative is possible.

Best regards,

Hello Chris,

when checking the actual installation guide for IdM Developer Studio, there is no offline-installation-procedure mentioned yet.

We do not intend to place our IdM-developer-clients that close to the "evil world" - thus, is there a recommend way get the plugin artifacts e.g. as importable ZIP or JAR? Should we open an incident, too?

Kind Regards,

Christine

Eclipse plugins can always be installed from a remote update site, such as https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/neon/, or from a local update site, which basically means the same files and folder structure like you have on the remote site, just on your hard drive instead. This is no different for the SAP IDM plugin.

When using the "Install New Software" action in Eclipse, you first use the "Add..." button to add a new update site, then the "Local..." or "Archive..." button, depending on whether you have the content of the update site in zipped or unzipped format on your hard drive.

There's a good blog on how to install previous versions of the SAP IDM eclipse plugin here:

https://blogs.sap.com/2018/03/05/how-to-install-previous-version-of-idm-developer-studio-plugin-for-eclipse/

It also contains information on where exactly you can find the SAP IDM Eclipse plugin downloads in the SAP Support Portal. The path mentioned there is:

Support Packages & Patches -> By Alphabetical Index -> N -> SAP NW Identity Management -> 8.0 -> COMPRISED SOFTWARE COMPONENT VERSION -> IDM CONFIG LM FOR ECLIPSE 8.0

Hope that helps.
