Hi Experts ,
I want to configure rejection in the sap marketing cloud workflow. I read the standard document that "Exception handling is not used in SAP Marketing Cloud".
My requirement is to configure a campaign workflow where after rejection , i can set the re approval or triggering the process again .
Is it possible in YMKT Cloud ?
Thanks in advance
Rashmi
Hi Rashmi,
In SAP Marketing Cloud 1808 the exceptions are not recommended to be used, however they are active if you choose to use them.
Could you please provide more information about your business use case? In case a marketing manager receives an approval request and rejects it for some reason, what would be the reason to automatically send the marketing manager the request again? Without having made any changes, why would they reject the first time and accept the second time?
Regards,
Jenn

Hi Jennifer ,
I have a use case where I have to configure a multi step approval.
Scenario 1
1st Step - Rejected
2nd Step -
Now , how exactly the exception handling will work here . Here the request should go back to the person who submitted the request. After doing the necessary changes , he will apply for re approval and it should again come to the 1st step .
Ideally for this what should be my exception handling .what required actions and the associated actions behave here ? I could not find anything regarding to this in any sap document for mkt cloud.
Scenario 2
1st Step - Approved
2nd Step - Rejected
Person did the necessary changes and applied for re approval
what should be ideal exception handling configuration here 1>If i want to skip already approved step and directly go to rejected step 2>if all approvals again required and it should start from 1st step again .
Regards
Rashmi
Hi Rashmi,
If I understood your scenario 1 correctly, no exception handling should be needed. The person who submitted the request will be notified it was rejected, they can make the necessary changes, and submit the request again.
In your scenario 2, after the request is rejected, the person who submitted the request will make changes. The object being reviewed for approval would therefore be different compared to the first time it was submitted, and would need to go through all steps again to ensure the modified version is approved. We cannot assume the 1st approver would accept the modified version simply because they approved the original version.

Jenn
