How to works dynamic variable of Analysis for office on DB

Hi to all,

I'd like to know the mechanism of a dynamic variable of Anlysis for Office on DB.

In partcular , if I add a variable ,if it acts as a " SQL where" directly on the DB or it make a call at the application .

Example: I have "Analysis for Office" as front end of BW and I have a "Composite provider" as datasource. If I add a variable in AFO what happens of this two options :

1. AfO create an SQL that directly cut data on DB

2. the data are loading in BW depending from BW filter and after, the filter of AfO, acts on data retriving. Hope is all clear. I not find any documentation about this.

Hi Rino,

this is more a matter of where in the different filter sections the variable is used, see SAP Community Wiki for more on filter processing.

Additionally, you can already check the Bex query in RSRT before using it in AO for analysing the generated SQL or TREX statements, see also in the SAP Community Wiki: RSRT: Display SQL BWA SAP HANA Query
