If I put the formula is default logic, when does it get calculated?

While running the report or loading the data?

Appreciate inputs..

All formula's in the default logic are applied in real time at the time of data submission.

It is also possible to run the default logic using the datamanager package "Default Formulas" supplied by SAP.

Also, when importing data, in the import package there is the option to run default formulas or not.
