Probably to complex for training. Better to get in a team of consultants.

Wait until dark and go outside and look up. (Make sure it is not raining or otherwise cloudy). Determine the hour angle of a bright star. After converting sidereal to solar time, it should be failry simple to determine the month.

Not sure if there's a FM to do this, so you may have to write some ABAP code yourself.

I think CACS_DATE_GET_YEAR_MONTH f.m works to extract month.

Actually this is really useful function module. If we ever fundamentally change the structure used to store dates it will only need changing in the one place. Genius.

There is no standard function which randomly generates a name of a month based on a random calendar type, so I will move this to the Coffee Corner incase someone wants to brainstorm this a bit...

I was thinking of a webservice which returns your geographic location based on IP address and using that will work out which calendar you should be using and accordingly whether you are thinking of the month of October, or the cold dew phase of the earthly ox is currently thinking about you, or what ever...
