I am looking for BO XI R 3.1 product version chart

Hello,

I am trying to determine if the BO 3.1 enterprise we are going to upgrade is up to date and if there are any Service packs/hot fixes which need to be installed to bring it to the latest version.

I was able to find a chart for XI R2 product versions (see below) but not for 3.1. and that is what I am looking for.

Hi,

for BO XI 3.1 version 12.1.x.y means that Fix Pack 1.x is installed. The best thing to do is look the version number in the metric tab for your CMS in the CMC.

BTW version 12.2.x.y means that SP2 with Fix Pack 2.x was installed.

So the second number is referring to fix pack? How we identified Service Pack 2 has been installed then?

Hi

the FixPack is the third number. The Service Pack is identified by the second number:

12.0.x.y = XI 3.0 with no service pack and fix pack X

12.1.x.y = XI 3.0 + SP 1 (this is called XI 3.1) + Fix Pack 1.x

12.2.x.y = XI 3.1 + SP2 + Fix Pack 2.x (no fix packs are yet released but anyway)

Thanks, this makes sense...

Right now we are testing BO enterprise version 12.1 which I downloaded from BO downloads. According to what you have said it supposed to be version with SP1.

So to upgrade to SP2 I should download and Install

ENTERPRISE02_0-10007443.EXE BOE XI 3.1 ServicePack 2 (Server + Client) ?

I noticed the file size is over 1.3 Gb, just wondering is it complete installation program and could I use it as installer for BO R 3.1 (once we decide to go live) or it is just upgrade and the version with SP1 has to be installed prior to that.

Also noticed there is hot fix for version with SP2.

Hi

SP2 is not a full version (although this is a 1.3 Gb archive). You can only upgrade an existing XI 3.1 installation.

The Hot Fix you mention makes sense only if you are planning to build universes based on SAP BW queries. The installation procedure for this is to a DLL used by the Universe Designer manually with the one contained in the zip file.
