Dynamic Actions - Copy with dates in "I" row versus "W" row

Can someone tell me what the difference is when Copying and Infotype using the 'I' statement versus the 'W' statement.

For example... Desired results. Copy IT0491 after a change in IT0001.

Option 1:

0001 6 01 I COP,0491,,,(P0001-BEGDA),(P0001-ENDDA)

Option 2:

0001 6 01 I COP,0491,,,,

0001 6 02 W P0491-BEGDA=P0001-BEGDA

0001 6 03 W P0491-ENDDA=P0001-ENDDA
