MDM Syndication server (MDSS) package where?!

Greetings,

I'm trying to install MDM 7.1, I have downloaded the MDM 7.1 (in 4 parts) following Downloads -> Sap Installation and Upgrades -> Application by Index -> S -> SAP SRM Catalog -> SAP MDM CATALOG MGMT 3.0/NW701

However, running sapinst asks for a MDM Syndication Server (MDSS) package, which is not in any folder from these almost 4 GB I've downloaded.

Can anyone please point me the correct location for this package? I'm actually not sure if the s-user I'm using has the permission to get it.

Hi Ruben,

There is no MDM syndicator or syndication server for SRM MDM Catalog. In SAP Inst you can select for Central System for SRM MDM catalog, there you provide MDS and MDIS only.

Even in distributed system you have to just select mds and MDIS.

Indeed.

Although there are actually 2 Central system options. I was trying to run the one that states

"Creates a new SAP system for MDM with the following MDM server instances on a single host:

Master Data Server (MDS)

Master Data Import Server (MDIS)

Master Data Syndication Server (MDSS) "

Still I'll install the Central system SRM-MDM Catalog instead that doesn't ask for the MDSS. Thank you for the help.

Hi Ruben,

Central MDM that you chose is not for SRM MDM. This MDM you can have MDSS those files you can dowload from

the following link in Servie market place (please note that the following path is visible only if you have license to SAP MDM not just SRM MDM)

Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group" SAP NetWeaver" SAP MDM" SAP NETWEAVER MDM 7.1

I see. I only have acess to srm-mdm, but I'll manage enough with this
