Share on Scrap - Inspection type

Hi Experts,

I maintained a new inspection type in the material master which the score procedure is Share of scrap.when I go for Quality check system is taking the Score based on Usage decision only, when i click on calculate score button, still it is taking the scores on UD only. Can any body tell me what are all the config step , so as to calculate the score on scrap.

Here a small breakthrough. I was doing some checks i got to this

The share of scrap for No of defects can be used in your case. Make the following setting

1) Make a Qualitative Mic and select in control indicator no of Defects and Share scrap. Do not chose Characteristic attribute in this case

2) In inspection plan insert this MIC and in the general setting choose Fraction calculation - 20 Poisson distribution

3) create an inspection lot with quantity 10 . In result recording you will get no of defects to enter. You enter the no of defects and accordingly in Usage decision you can see the share of scrap and quality score. You can continue to do with differnet lot quantities

The share of scrap which comes in usage decision screen has a close relation to the % rejected (no of defects)

I checked how the share of scrap formula but couldnt get through . I think It is dependent on Poisson distribution .

Quality score is also determined with share of scrap , with a formula. you may check this function module for the formula

KQD_LOT_SCRAP. Or if you think the share of scrap can be direclty taken as quality score then a small development of this FM can be help you ingetting that . KQD_COPY_REFERENCE_FORM

If you are able to invest some time in getting the formula in mathematical means it would be helfpul. you might have to take the time of ABAPer also

If your sole purpose of doing this is for vendor evaluation then there can be some standard or feasible solution for bringing the rejected %

If this is the requirement then You will have to create your own Q score procedure using a function module. Let the score get updated based on the %of quantity rejected.

I think there is some misunderstanding of the concept Share ofscrap. This Quality procedure is not linked to the rejection of the material. it is related to the result recording values and the rejection of MICs . It will not have any correlation with rejection of quantity. Quality scores are independent of the quantity rejection

If you need to calculate based on rejeciton of quantity then I think you may have to user exit. But with that also i doubt whether you will be able to do so.

Please let me know your requirement in detail so that some better option can be provided

Hi Gajesh,

Our requirement is when ever we receive the goods we will do the quality check that how many number of goods are OK and No of goods rejected and we don't use any characteristics or any other things in the quality check but we check only number of goods received .After this if any rejection are found the vendor has to be rating accordingly. When I run vendor evaluation on quality I should get exact score based on goods receipts and rejection so that I will decide among the vendors who is best in supplying quality products and I will go ahead with that vendor.

Eg:- GR 100 where 40 is Ok and 60 is damaged the score should be 40, since we received 40 goods out of 100.

As I new to MM and QM, Kindly guide me how can I configure this in quality management by step by step.

1) Please follow the steps i have given for giving Quality score according to share scrap. if any issues kindly let me know

2) You can give your selected sets in the inspection type and also tick in the config selected set in same plant

SPRO > QM > Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Creation> Maintain Inspection Types > Selected sets & also tick selected set in same plant

Hi Gajesh,

I maintained all the setting for the quality score based on share of scrape.

But when I'm doing quality inspection QA11, the quality score is appearing as 1 irrespective of quantity i rejected.the procedure is displaying as Share of scrape.

Kindly guide me ...

Hi Gajesh,

After going in to the T-code QA11 with the inspection lot, the quality score is Zero.after I give UD then the system is showing the score which has defined for that UD only.since I have maintained the quality score as share of scrap in the inspection type.

Also let me know how to display my own defined UD' sets when I go for quality check , when I run QA11 T-code it is displaying all the standard UD's .is this UD's are plant specific or client specific?

Please find the process for share of scrap method

1) Maintain the client level setting for quality score

SPRO > QM> Maintain settings at client level> You need to maintain the highest quality score (100) and lowest quality score (1) system doesnt take 0. also Lower limit for good quality (90)

2) Make sure that quality score procedure is available

SPRO > QM>Quality Inspection > inspection lot completion >Define quality score procedure > 01> with function module KQD_LOT_SCRAP is avaiable

3) Maintain for the inspection type Quality score method as from share of scrap

SPRO > QM>Quality Inspection > inspection lot Creation > Default values for inspection types> anyinspection type > inspection lot completion tab > Quality score procedure

4) Identify inspection characteristics as relevant for scrap in their control indicators in QS21

5) Assign suitable procedures for estimating the scrap share to the characteristics in the task list : This will be available in the general view in QP01 for the MIC. maintain 30 normal distribution.
