BO XI 3.1 SP02 installation error

Hi,

We have installed the base BO XI 3.1 version. We downloaded the SP02 EXE (ENTERPRISE02_0-10007443.EXE) file and tried running it. While doing so we get an error - " The installation Source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and you can access it". We are currently on 2003, SP2. I saw the following posting in SDN:

There is a suggestion here to apply an MS Patch. I am not in a position to update the OS Patch currently. Is there any other alternate solution to this one?
