Alternative to change pointer

Dear Experts,

Is there any alternative for change pointer for monitoring the changing of the e.g. business objects like sales order or work flow?

I'd like to use the creation- and change-events as a trigger for my event-handler class so I can fulfill e.g. sales order with some customer-related data.

Could you share your experience if you had the same issue?

You can use change documents. If you want to use them as a trigger, you can use SWEC to define a custom function event to be published, which you can link to a receiver using tx. SWETYPV.
