Cancel old inspection lots

Former Member

Hello,

I have a few inspection lots from the passed that are stock relevant. But the stock is not there anymore but the inspection lot is still open. The usage decision has not been made.

If i want to do the usage decision he marks me the massage Create and approve batch record first. When i look at the message it says that i have to create a batch record because there is an indicator active in the work scheduling view. But this indicator is not active, and as far is i know, we never used this indicator.

Does anyone has any id how to cancel these inspection lots?

Kind regards,

Bert

Hey Bert,

I think the fastest way to do it is run QA32

filter only those lots that are required to be canceled.

Go to change mode

In the change mode of inspection lot follow the path,,, Inspection lot->Function-> Cancel Lot.

Save

As soon as you save the system will open the next lot in change mode.

Where you need to perform the same cancellation process.

By doing this you will be able to cancel the lots.

Or you can develop BDC to change the lot in mass.

Hello,

I know that you can cancel an inspection lot like that, but you can only do this for stock independant inspection lots.

But my inspection lots are stock dependent, but the stock has disappeared. I don't know where the stock is, but i just want to cancel these inspection lots.

When i try to so your procedure, the cancel inspection is grey. So i can't do this.

Kind regards,

Bert

Hello,

All of first let me know the status of your inspection lots.

Then check where the stock disappeared. If it is already consumed (It may happen that some one would have bypass QM and done this) so there is not meaning of canceling the lots. You better perform UD for them, in same manner as I have told you to cancel the lots.

Hello Shyamal,

The status of my inspection lots is

REL Released

INSP Inspection active

PASG Plan/specification assi

CCTD Insp. characteristics c

CALC Sample calculated

RREC Results confirmed

SPRQ Quantity posting requir

SPCO Stock posting completed

APGS Single approval granted

APG Approval granted

I tried to do the usage decision but it gaves me an error as described in my first post. I tried to create a batch record, but the system does not allow me either.

Kind regards,

Bert

Hi Bert,

Any lot can't have these two statuses at once.

SPRQ Quantity posting requir
SPCO Stock posting completed

You are having it at once is quite surprising for me.

Any ways there are some practical solutions for your query resolvent.

1. Put some batch number under the batch field in inspection lot, you can do it in trx QA02 for a lot. And then perform UD.

2. Find the material document that are responsible for the inspection lot generation and then cancel them.

Hello Shyamal,

The batch was already filled in at the beginning but he still gives me the message "create batch record ...".

I also found the material document but i cannot enter because it gaves me the message:

"Storage location in plant is HU managed; goods movemnt not possible"

It is a plant where we activated HU-management after this inspection lot.

I think we are a bit stuck here at this point. Anyway, thanks for you help.

Kind regards,

Bert

Hi Bert,

May I know the Error message number for the message?

"create batch record ...".

And then let me check what can do to resolve the error.

Create and approve batch record first

Message no. EBR015

Diagnosis

You can only carry out the following functions for the batch you have selected when an approved batch record exists (see material master record, Work scheduling view):

Making a usage decision for an inspection lot of origin Goods receipt from production

Changing the batch status from Restricted to Unrestricted

However, no batch record has been created for the batch you have selected. Therefore, the system does not carry out the function.

Procedure

Create and approve the batch record.
