Installation of VDS- Deployed VDS/Standalone VDS

we have installed VDS as standalone and have configured for the hcm - idm integration. Now we need to invoke a webservice (a webservice to connect to MOSS) from vds. it was found from a document that VDS has to be deployed on SAP Netweaver to connect to a web service.

Is it so? If so, will it affect our standalone configuration for HCM if we deploy the vds.

After deploying VDS can we still use VDS as standalone mode.

Please some one through some light on this.

Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Mary,

in order to connect to a Web Service you do not need to use a deployed VDS.

You only require a deployed VDS if you want to connect to VDS via e.g. SPML instead of LDAP.

Connecting to a Web Service requires you to create a new conector in VDS which then calls the Web Service.

This setup is similar to the AC (GRC) Integration.

    Best regards,

    • Hi Mary,

there is no template. This requires coding.

The best starting point here is to check out the sample code of some connectors which comes with the product.

In addition there is also a JavaDoc in the VDS installation.

      Best regards,
