sap mdm publisher: not able to select MDLS machine

Hello,

We have installed MDLS on MDM 7.1 server machine.

Now, when I try to run sap mdm publisher from my local machine, I get message u201Ceither network connection is down or host machine is downu201D.

when I try to run sap mdm publisher from server machine, I am able to select repository but in step 2 it asks for MDLS server machine. I believe MDLS server machine should be the same mdm7.1 server but window keeps coming.

Can you please help.

Master Data Layout Server (MDLS) is a server instance that is specifically required for publishing.

Hi Sameer,

MDM Publisher can not be opened without starting and connecting to MDM Layout server.

Firstly you can install MDLS either on MDM 7.1 server Machine or to local machine. After installing make sure that Services for MDLS is running. If it is not running then it would keep asking you for MDLS server machine again and again even after you provide the hostname or IP address of the machine where you have installed MDLS Server.

Note: You can install your Layout Server anywhere but there should be communication link between MDM Server, Layout Server and GUI Clients.
