Enterprise portal with web 2.0

Greetings Experts,

Our company is planning to integrate WEB 2.0 with enterprise portal 7.0. Currently we are running enterprise portal 7.0 with SPS 16. We can also upgrade it to EP 7.1(EHP0). Please suggest any guide available, and whether we can integrate WEB 2.0 with current setup or we need to upgrade it to ehp0.

Looking forward to your kind help.

Thanks and Regards.

Sarthak, when you say that your company is looking to integrate [Web 2.0 |http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0] 2.0 with SAP Enterprise Portal I am assuming that you mean that your company is planning to integrate application having Web 2.0 features with the portal. SAP Portal can integrate with any web based application with or without the single sign on features and a lot depends on which application you are planning to integrate and what are you looking to achieve from the Integration.

Do share some more information about the kind of application your planning to integrate and then you will surely have more answers.

    HI GLM ,

Yes you are right, we are planning to integrate our EP with WEB 2.0 applications. Basically my question is that whether our EP 7.0 with SPS 16 would be enough to meet the pre-requisites required to configure WEB 2.0 or we need to upgrade it to ehp0. It would be very helpful, if you can share some useful documents regarding the configuration between EP and WEB 2.0.

    Thanks and Regards,

Sarthak, Integration largely depends on which application you are trying to integrate with the portal and what your expecting out of it. I am not sure if you would get any documentation on specific integration related material, but SAP Portal as a product can be used to integrate with any web based application. Its easier to integrate if you have a home grown application since you have access to the source code of the application and can make approproiate changes where every necesary to make the integration seem seamless.

If you describe the product then you might recieve better input from SDN'ers

      Good Luck!
