Why does wrong Date occurs in PSA Even though Correct date format maintained in Source

Hi Experts,

I'm loading the data from datasource to DSO.

While loading the data from datasource to DSO, I was getting error during DSO Activation. The error was "Activation of M records from DSO terminated" .

After changing the DSO Setting as "No SID Generation", I was able to load it into DSO.

So here is the issue m facing

I found that this error was due to some wrong entry of date in Date column .Some date values are empty. Some are in correct format- DD.MM.YYYY.

But some are in wrong format like Example - .1.7038

I've edited manually at PSA level and loaded Successfully into Target DSO.

but my question is why do we get wrong format like Example - .1.7038.

Requesting you all please do share your valuable information on this.

Thanks & regards

Ramesh Hangargi

Hi,

I believe your problem lies in the PSA table itself as there only you are seeing crazy date values like 1.7038

What is the data source you are using? standard or custom, if standard can you pass the name?

please check the extractor, data source and DSO for the date field, are all having data type as DATS with internal/external length as 8?

Is there any specific values in ECC for which date is coming as blank or 1.7038?

Hi Akash,

Thank you for your valuable time.

Yes I'm using Standard Data source.

please check the extractor, data source and DSO for the date field, are all having data type as DATS with internal/external length as 8?

I've checked in extractor. data source and DSO all having DATS data type with length as 8.

Is there any specific values in ECC for which date is coming as blank or 1.7038?

next day process chain triggering perfectly without any issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Ramesh

Hi,

What is the date format you have used in the file?

By default system understand YYYYMMDD format but you can always load few other formats by using "external check box" in the data source setting for the field.

Thanks

Akash

Hi Akash,

Thanks for your time.

We are loading data from ECC and date format is YYYYMMDD.

In ECC date is showing Correctly but in BW for some its showing correct date and for some completely blank and & for some its showing .1.7038.

i've checked in BW SU01-> Under Defaults tab-> date format is set to DD.MM.YYYY.

Can you tell what might be the root Cause.

Thanks & Regards,
