Add the VAT registration number to the search criteria’s in MDG – Customers.

Dear Colleague’s,

We have a request from the business to add the VAT registration number to the search criteria’s in MDG – Customers.

We cannot use the BADI USMD_SEARCH, because we are not using the Generic Search.

Our developer has found the following solution to add the VAT registration number:

To add the extra search attribute via enhancements:

• Enhance UIBB configuration BS_BP_DQUERY_DB_BP_GENERAL (Can be reached via NWBC (IE) or via SE80):

• Enhance method that generates the search attributes:

o Enhance standard SAP handler: QUERY_PROP_BP_BY_GENERAL (CL_MDG_BS_BP_HANDLER)

o OR

o Create a Z-handler that adds this specific attributes (maybe not worth it and enhancement might be a better option)

• Enhance the method that executes the query:

o class: CL_MDG_BS_BP_HANDLER

o method: QUERY_BP_HEADER

We are not the MDG experts, and we don’t know if this solution would be a “recommended” solution. If you have more experience as MDG consultant could you please advise if the proposed solution would be an option?

Can may be the entity BP_TAXNUM be combined with the customer search in some other way?
