Text items and pricing

Hello Experts,

I use quotation (t-code: va21) and Sales document item category u2018AGTXu2019 - Text item (Item type is u201CBu201D u2013 text item, and Iu2019ve changed pricing filed to u201CXu201D u2013 Pricing standard. This filed is gray so thatu2019s why system doesnu2019t show me pricing conditions during quotation create.

Could you tell me what should be done to make pricing available for text item positions?

I thing the FM u201CPRICING_SUBSCREEN_SET_DATAu2019 is responsible for that but not sure what exactly should be change there.

Please advise me.

But, why do you want pricing for Text item.

In any business scenario, Text item is not relevant for price.

That is why SAP have made this field disable (grey out) so that by mistake also you should not be able to enter wrong value.

There is a company which receives many price queries for product they can produce (work-to-order production). Each product they produce is different. Only few queries of many the receive each day will be continued. Thatu2019s why there is no need to create material master data on that step. In other hand all quotations must be responded, printed and sent to prospective customer.

Could you recommend me other business scenario to make that process easier?.

Hi

The best solution for this problem is go for Varriant Configuration.

The work arround is also available for that proble.

make one dummy material. this material will be used as dummy in sales order and in description field write you desire text relevent to product. now give price according to it. You can track the order and material with its description (which material was ordered)
