Product Category list not visible

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We are facing the following situation (Classic scenario SRM 5.0, R/3 4.6c)-

The product categories have been replicated from R/3 to SRM and are visible in the extended attributes (product categories) for the plant from the GUI. The product category * has been set as deactivated and the other product categories are all active.

While creating a shopping cart from the portal using describe requirement there is no product category list being displayed and it shows an error "list not available"

Please help.

Kind Regards,

Amish

Amish,

Did you check PPOMA_BBP for Product Categories? I couldn't tell from the thread if you were talking about deactivation in that text. Please check that you have the Product Categories available via PPOMA_BBP.

Regards, Dean.

Hi Dean,

We have the Product Categories available via PPOMA_BBP.

Hi,

Product category * means all the avaliable product categories and it is marked as De activate. I understand that all the required product cat are already maintained in ext attributes, then pls delete the entry with *. Then the remaning entries will be displayed in the list. In SAP, the symbol * (all) always take precedence for all standard considerations.

Thanks

Hi Muthu and Kiran,

Thanks for your reply.

Let me add to this -

We have tried not marking product category "*" as "deactivate" and manually keyed in the remaining product categories at the plant level. But in the list while creating a shopping cart these product categories still they are not being displayed.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Amish

Hi

There is no relation between product category and plant in srm

if you have deactivated in extended attribute ->product category.

00101 - deactivate , this 00101 you can not find in search too.

are you inheriting all the product category

go to position of your user id and check how many product category you have inherited.

Hi Muthu,

Thanks for the reply and agree that there is no relation between plant and product category - what i meant was that we want a certain set of product categories valid for a plant.

Do let know your views on this -

We have removed the star entry "*" of product category and have only 4 product categories entered manually at the plant level - still the shopping cart does not show the list of 4 during creation of the Shopping Cart.

Amish

001 - inactive

002- inactive

003- inactive

004-inactive

dont use * for blocking for 4 product categories.

or

I dont know how you maintained product categories in your system.

as you aware you can control via position (user position ) level too.

Hi

Check whether all the prod. cat. descrptions have been replicated into SRM from R/3 (mat grp descriptions).

If the prod.cat. description is not available in SRM, we wont be able bring them in search help.

You can find the descriptions in table COMM_CATEGORYT against respective prod.cat. (table COMM_CATEGORY).

Hi Muthu,

Thanks. I tried this too and its not working. At a user level the same set of product categories have been inherited - but the same issue is being faced.

you can search too . com_cat search term is working fine or not.

it is working fine for me.you are correct . sorry i misunderstood your question.

temporrarily put

manual entry for your testing ..

extended attribute ->product category

and test them

eventually bbp_prcat_hier search term may help you fetch the prcat data via gui.

hope you know debug. so you can drill down ...

more over make ensure that

comm_hierarchy - tcodes

comm_category

entries are available . if your product category and hierarchy relations ship are missing? any thing. check it up . i smell a rat here.
